July 10: Dressing Down with Aaron Bracarro
Wednesday Jul 10, 2013
Wednesday Jul 10, 2013
Yesterday we discussed men's fashion. The change in the last 30 years how people especially in So Cal have found it okay to "dress down" rather than just have a "Casual Friday". We discussed everything from bow ties to the way you can make one outfit work for you with self image issues, weight, and all things that clothes impact you on. We also discussed the CEO of Abercrombie who is complete and utter d**che bag. He doesn't want fit men or women wearing his clothes because they are ugly. Can you imagine, he needs to look in the mirror. But we aren't saying anything that hasn't been vomited all over social media on his personality and practices. Ugly inside oozes to your outside. THAT's where true ugliness happens.

Wednesday Jul 03, 2013
Wednesday Jul 03, 2013
Bryan and Laurens will be discussing the importance of a professional headshot to brand yourself. Laurens also wants people to beware of photographer’s scams. Tune in – you’ll learn a lot from this in-demand, celebrity photographer. What does our gorgeous brunette say to you? Competent, self-starter, innovator? Perhaps. Are you sure? About Laurens. Laurens Antoine is a celebrity and fashion photographer that lives in San Diego, California. Laurens’ career began in fashion when he founded a number of brands dating back to 1984. In his early years in the fashion industry Laurens started shooting out of passion and need. His marketing always required high end art, so he started to shoot many of the campaigns himself. In 2003 Laurens started shooting for FHM Magazine, then the fastest growing magazine in the United States. Laurens became the director of photography and his duties broadened to encompass casting models, managing events and at times, public relations. One of the biggest PR coups, Megan Fox being named the Sexiest Woman in the World in 1997 was managed by Laurens who partnered with old friends at B|W|R Public Relations and resulted in 393 views of a behind the scenes video produced by Laurens in less than a week.In 2012 Laurens opened a studio in downtown San Diego to cater to creative agencies and corporations in his home town. From Laurens Antoine’s Site: Sadly, many photographers don’t view headshot clients as repeat customers. Aside from the potential of poor quality images, they can employ of number of marketing tactics that are misleading. We hope this helps you avoid problems and helps you find a photographer that delivers you images and an experience you’ll be ecstatic about. Beware of low-ball advertised prices, especially in Google ads You’ve seen them: Google and other ads for headshots with low prices right in the headline. Make sure you are getting everything you expect. They’re not loss leaders, they’re usually incomplete services. Watch for additional fees for proofs, retouching, license, delivery, image size, processing time and a host of other things you may not have considered.

Panelists included our own, Angela Moskovis, and Kristen Mosteller from CW Channel 6 and our very own Drew Ornelas. He loves this kind of thing....like Bryan. The show centered all on the Supreme Court's decision regarding DOMA and our right to marry. People need to understand that in California everyone is free to marry; which Wes and Bryan did when there was that three week window to do so back in 2007.

June 6: Enlightening Discussion on Immigration Laws
Friday Jun 07, 2013
Friday Jun 07, 2013
Bryan and Kevin talk about Immigration Law. Here are some of the highlights. What causes most of the negative responses and feelings to immigrants, especially those from Mexico? Fear and lack of information causes the negative feelings, as it is for most hate, bullying behavior. Ignorant, naive. The DREAM ACT: Obama enacted last June DACA Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals This applies to those children brought into the US by parents without a choice. Some of these kids and teens don't know they are here illegally. They are finding out when they turn 15.5 and attempt to get a learner's permit. The DAVA applies to those brought here by parents prior to June 15 2007 - in school or have graduated with GED. Cannot have a serious misdemeanor and then they are eligible for work authorization - CDL, SSN for two years. What would happen after two years? Still unknown. No matter what you hear or read, if you make yourself available to immigration - the American People will rise up in your defense. Bryan asked about those mother's who make it across to have their children in this country, making them citizens: That child is US citizen -- period. What many don't know is that the child born here to illegal parents cannot petition a parent until the child is 21 years of age. People want to change The Constitution so that if you are born here and your parents are illegally here, YOU , the child will not automatically become a citizen. Common Misunderstandings:
- They are not bleeding the system.
- May are working - they make up Social Security numbers.
- Taxes and SSN are taken out of their checks. They are paying.
- IRS sending "no match" letters to combat the numbers that don't match real people. It's on the employer.
- All of the money paid into SSN - goes into general fund.
- Advised to go to SSN with real SSN to get their funds transferred to the new REAL account.
